1~~1 <br />~~ <br />-olf Course <br />';:~17.e Board v~ras informed that at the present time Ramsey County Open <br />S_;~~~,ce staff .is studying the golf course for the possible inclusion <br />in the Ramsey County Open Space System.. The Ramsey County staff expects <br />to have this study ready for the October 21st meeting of the RamseSr <br />County Park Board. Smith inquired whether the go~.f coarse purchase <br />p:~~oposal is through Ramsey County Open Space or if the 'pu.rchase T~rou?..d <br />be sima_lar to that of the purchase of Gull's Golf Course. It Ttia~, <br />reported that the present proposal was through Ramsey Open Space 'gut <br />~;b.at the alternative of the legislature appropriating special funds <br />soY° this purchase is being looked into. <br />Community Service Projects <br />Smith asked if the Department could create a list of community ser~rice <br />projects for the Boy Scouts in New Brighton. He further stated that <br />-caese projects could be a significant help to the Capital. Improvements <br />?rogram. The Board was informed that this would be done and tha' <br />suggested projects would be welcomed from Board members. <br />r-'ands Received from Sale of City Property <br />Weissman asked where funds received for the sale of property would <br />~~e placed into the City's operating budget. The Board was informec+. <br />that funds resulting from the sale of City properties and refunds are <br />placed in the General Fund. Weissman asked about the sale of park <br />land and what would become of any funds generated through this type <br />of sale. The Board was informed that the sale of park land would be <br />classified in the same manner as the. sale of any other City-ow~zed <br />property. <br />Departmental Report <br />The Board was informed that the Department has looked into possible <br />~~~fJD funds and that there are none available at this time, although <br />there is currently legislation before Congress to increase funds for <br />LA~[CON programs. The Board was notified that the City's staff has been <br />instructed to examine every passible available grant and to attempt ,to <br />gain additional funds through grants and aids everytime such funds <br />could be attained. <br />~_~'~ie Bcar: d was informed that the park survoy has n.ot been further <br />evaluated at this point.
