Park. Board Meeting
Page 3
Gunderman asked if the Village had to provide a public access for
motorized boat traffic on Long Lake. It was explained that the
Village is not obligated to provide a public access and if it did
so wish ta, it was not obligated to provide a boat launch. Should
it wish to provide a boat launch, it would be possible through the
State Department of Conservation to regulate the type of boat traffic
around on the lake.
Gunderman suggested that the Board consider a policy of no motorized
boats on the lake.
Cook reminded the Board that residents living on the lake had paid
dearly for the privilege of boating and that they did have an in-
formal procedure for policing themselves to avoid the usual problems.
The Board. considered a policy of prohi'oiting motorized boats from
the park area while allowing resident motorized boating.
It was agreed to discuss this issue further>
The Board then approved the concept for the development of Long Lake
as presented in the meeting of February 2, 7.972, vaith the except/e
that theC~~r~P~`ss~be relocated closer to the road.
Cook moved that the road situation be investigated as to the feasi-
bility of developing a road from the existing beach to the proposed
area.
Seconded by Sherlock. Motion carried.
It was agreed by the Board that the road situation had to be resolved
before the development of the Long Lake site could be assigned
priority.
Hansen Park
The proposed concept for additional development of Hansen Park was
considered by the Board. The orientation of the east ball diamonds
and the lighting of that area was discussed. Several alternative
light systems were considered so as to provide the most number of
usable lighted facilities.
Tnreissman moved that the ball diamonds be established as-laid out on
the original plan.
Seconded by Cook. Motion carried.
