r <br />Dahl moved that development of the Vermont Park and the Northwest area park <br />sites to a usable level be a second priority of the plan. <br />Hagemeyer second. <br />The Board discussed the definition of the word usable. It was agreed that <br />usable meant basic site work, utilities brought to the site under ground, <br />- skating areas including lights, ballfield and play area, <br />Motion carried. <br />Dahl moved that the initial development of Long Lake be the third priority. <br />Hagemeyer second. <br />Dahl. stated that .initial development include construction of a road, Barking <br />areas, a beach and picnic area. <br />Gunderman questioned the feasibility of a road fxom the South. <br />Cook asked if there was enough area available without the Hipp property to <br />consider development. . <br />Sherlock stated that.. many changes have occurred since the original development <br />plan for Long Lake was approved.. He suggested the entire concept be <br />reviewed.. <br />Gunderman requested a special use plan be developed by the Department for <br />the February meeting.. <br />t~ahl and Hagemeyer withdrew the motion. <br />Dahl suggested that the Silver Lake Road and 694 site and the additional <br />development of Hansen Park be included in the discussion of the plan.. <br />Smith stated that the Seminary site should also be discussed. <br />Cook suggested that it be included as a part of priority 4~2 developing it <br />to a usable level should. an agreement with the Seminary be reached. <br />Gunderman did not agree. He stated the area does have open space available <br />and other projects are of a higher priority. <br />Dahl moved to include the Seminary site in prioity ~~2. <br />Cook second. <br />Motion carried. <br />Gunderman requested that the Department prepare a special use plan for <br />additional development to_Hansen Park. <br />Several other suggestions were made of items to be considered in the Plan. <br />1. Additional tennis courts <br />2. Junior Football Fields , <br />3. Extended ice facilities <br />4. Broader Programming of facilities <br />5. Plantings ~ ' <br />6. Fool <br />7.
