<br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br />C!TY OF NE\~ BRI GHTOll <br /> <br />to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held <br />October 28, 1986, at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Fifth Avenue N.W. <br /> <br />I Pursuant <br />Tuesday, <br />Present: <br /> Absent: <br /> Also <br /> Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, Councilmembers Brandt, Gunderman, Schmidt, and Williams <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Henry Sinda, City Manager <br />Kevin Locke, Community Development Director <br />Les Proper, City Engineer <br />Gary Berger, Administrative Assistant <br />Charlie LeFevere, City Attorney <br /> <br />Counc il Mi nutes <br /> <br />Mot i on by Schmidt, seconded by Wi 11 iams, to APPROVE THE MINUTES <br />OF THE OCTOBER 14, 1986, COUNCIL MEETING. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, with consent of council, received the Economic <br />Development Organization minutes of September 17, 1986; Planning <br />Commission minutes of September 16, 1986, and October 13, 1986. <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br /> <br />Doug Hill made a presentation to the council on epilepsy and <br />thanked the council for its consideration of a Proclamation for <br />Epilepsy Month (November) in New Brighton. <br /> <br />Chet Glisan, representative of the New Brighton Lions Club, pre- <br />sented the council with a $5,000 donation and stated the Lions <br />Club would like to have a part in Veterans Park. Benke asked <br />Glisan to express the council's thanks for this and previous <br />donations to the Lions Club. Gunderman stated he had met with <br />the Lions and feels they are truly a dedicated organization and <br />looks forward to a continuing relationship. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Brandt, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />ADOPT RESOLUTIONS OF APPRECIATION FOR JIM TORKILDSON AND ADOLPH <br />ZBIEGEN UPON THEIR RESIGNATION FROM THE LIQUOR DEPARTMENT. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Counc il Mi nutes <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Special Order <br />of Business <br /> <br />Proclamation: <br />Ep i 1 epsy Month <br />(No report) <br /> <br />Donation Received: <br />Lions Club <br />(No report) <br /> <br />Appreciation: Jim <br />Torkildson and <br />Adolph Zbiegen <br />(No reports) <br />Resolution 86-105 <br />Resolution 86-106 <br />
