<br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />October 28, 1986 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Brandt, to APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA <br />ITEMS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. CONSOLIDATED VOUCHERS: 80598-80974 AND 74791-74795. <br /> <br />2. CONSIDERATION OF PURCHASE OF TELEPHONE SYSTEM FOR FIRE DEPART- <br />MENT. <br /> <br />3. CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION APPROVING ELECTION JUDGES FOR <br />NOVEMBER 4, 1986 ELECTION. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br />Proper had nothing to add to the staff report concerning the <br />vacation of two util ity easements on the United Theological <br />Seminary property, but noted City Attorney had provided an <br />amended proposed resolution. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />LeFevere explained the resolution was amended to make it clear <br />that by vacating these easements we are not intending to vacate <br />those easements which will be dedicated with filing of the Semin- <br />ary Estates plats, and that they do coincide. <br /> <br />Dr. Mills stated it would be very helpful for the Seminary to <br />to have the change. <br /> <br />As there were no questions or comments from neither council nor <br />the audience, Schmidt moved, seconded by Williams, to CLOSE THE <br />PUBLIC HEARING. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Williams, to WAIVE THE READING <br />AND AOOPT A RESOLUTION VACATING THE TWO UTILITY EASEMENTS ON THE <br />UNITED THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY PROPERTY. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Counc il Bus i ness <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Julie Beisswenger requested the council's assistance in obtaining <br />ownership of a picture of the Cattlemen's Hotel, one of the few <br />remaining articles of historical value; the picture is currently <br />on loan from the Ramsey County Historical Society (RCHS) for one <br />year and is on display in the First Bank of New Brighton; she <br />believes it should be permanently housed and on display in New <br />Brighton, especially in view of our upcoming Centennial year, <br />rather than being stored in the RCHS's warehouse, which is where <br />it will be stored once the loan period has elapsed. <br /> <br />Page Two <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Vouchers <br /> <br />Telephone System: <br />Fire Department <br />Report 86-248 <br /> <br />Election Judges: <br />November 4, 1986 <br />Report 86-249 <br />Resolution 86-107 <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br />Seminary: Vacation <br />of Easements <br />Report 86-250 <br />Resolution 86-108 <br />7:42-7:45pm <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Support for acquisi- <br />tion: New Brighton <br />historical picture <br />(No report) <br />
