x <br />Pl-.RIC BOARD T~IEETITdG <br />October 6, 1971 <br />The meeting was called to order at 8;01 P.M. <br /> <br />Board Members Present: Cook, Dahl, Gunderman, Hagemeyer, Sherlock, Smith <br />and Councfl Representative Moen. <br />tdeissman appeared at 8:05 P.Ni. <br />Absent: None <br />Others Present: Mrs. Joseph Polaczyk, James Otto, Village Residents, <br />Robert tdicklund, Director of Parks and Recreation. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of September 1, 1971 were approved as <br />submitted. <br />Agenda Additions: Discussion of 'r'roposed Budget <br />Shelter Building Use Policy <br />Report on Planning Commission and Citizens Study <br />Committee Progress. <br />RAi'~gSEY COUTdTY OPEN SPACE, PLAPi <br />Board members reviewed the meeting held with the Park Boards of neighboring <br />communities on the Ramsey County Open Space Plan. Dahl and Smith reported. <br />that all of the comments they had heard about the meeting were positive. <br />Sherlock stated surprise at the willingness of alI the communities involved to <br />cooperate. <br />The Board then discussed the County time table for implementing the Open Space <br />Plan. Municipal input is not formally being solicited until January Sherlock <br />suggested that is would be difficult at that point to have any effect on the <br />plan. <br />Sherlock moved to send a letter to the. Ramsey County Board informing them of <br />the meeting to be held on October i3 for North Suburban Commdtnities to discuss <br />the Raziasey County Open Space Plan and attempt to coordinate action on it. <br />The County is invited to send a representative to that meeting. <br />Dahl second. Matfon carried. <br />Hagemeyer waved that Gunderman and Dahl be appointed to represent the New <br />Brighton Park Board at the Open Space meeting withT~eiss~as.n as the alternate. <br />Sherlock second. Motion Carried. <br />Gunderman asked if any board members had positions on the plan different from <br />those previously delineated. It was suggested that the meeting deal .with the <br />negotiation of priorities as well as insuring that the County did not become <br />involved in park and recreation functions better provided at a municipal level <br />ie. ballfields, playgrounds, etc. <br />
