r Park Board Meeting .Tiny 1, 1970 Page 3 SEVENTH STREET PARK BUILDING The Park Department architect, Arthur Dickey, reported on the p~_ans for the building at Seventh Street Park. He explained that the plans were. in the concept stage and presented a drawing to the Board. The building would be circular with various sections designed so that each part-could be built one at a time if necessary. The first section or slice would be the warming house area. Other sections include a Teen Center,. meeting rooms, craft rooms, game room and Senior Citizen's Center. The first phase is similar in function to the other park shelters but is different in shape and larger in size. It would have a self-contained heating plant and constructed of pre-cast concrete walls and copper trim. A cost estimate would be available at the next meeting. The Board requested that a special meeting be scheduled to discuss perspective drawings and cost estimates. Dahl moved that the Board accept the preliminary concept and pursue the plan further. Sherlock seconded. Motion passed. SEVENTH STREET PARK NAME The family of the late Richard Hansen has beer, contacted and their. expressed preference is that the park be named Richard J. kiansen Park, Barnhill moved to recommend to the Council that Seventh Street Park be named Richard J. Hansen Park. Dahl seconded. Motion passed. The Director reviewed the Department's recent activity for the Board. Meeting adjourned at 9:28 p.m.
