~~\i <br />PARK BOARD MEETING <br />April 1, 1970 <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. <br />Present- Dahl, Hagemeyer, Hansen, Weissmen, Moen, Schaefer <br />Absent: Barnhill, Gunderman, Sherlock <br />SPECIAL MEETING DATE <br />The Board set April 22, 8 p.m., as the date for a special meeting to <br />consider bids on planting and electrical work on park site and making <br />recommendations to the Council. <br />DISCiJSSION LIGHTING FIXTURES-FOSS ROAD <br />Mr. Charles Hefty, of Brauer and Associates, in discussing the <br />lighting fixtures at the Foss Road site stated that the installer will <br />chock those fixtures which appear to be defective. This check is to be <br />m«de-when entry can be made with a "boom" truck. The apparent problem <br />is lack of voltage which would require a larger transformer. If the <br />py~oblem is not the transformer itself, the installer will assume the <br />cost for making necessary repair although the warranty part has <br />e~>pired . <br />Mrs_ Dahl appeared at 8:20 <br />RICE CREEK NATURE TRAIL <br />The Board discussed materials submitted from Mrs. Betty Mech, <br />1?15 66th Avenue N.E., Fridley, Minnesota, regarding proposed Rice <br />Creek Nature Trail and Nature Centers. <br />Motion by Hagemeyer, seconded by Weissman that a letter be directed to <br />M.rs. Mech indicating no current interest in the proposal. <br />carried <br />MINUTES, N~ARCH 4 AND MARCH 19,1970 <br />The minutes of March 4 and 19 were approved as submitted. <br />BUILDING PLAN-7TH STREET PARK SITE <br />~~,r,-Arthur Dickey, Architect, presented 4 alternate plans for <br />shelter construction at the 7th Street Park site. Alternate No. 4 <br />appea~~ed to be the architect's preference; however, this alternate <br />could not be ready by the 1970 -71 winter season. In addition to the <br />4 alternate plans, a 5th alternate pre-fabricated structure was <br />discussed. Comments again were made regarding the Board's concern over <br />"temporary" structures. Mr. E. E. Fisher suggested that more <br />consideration be given to building or site location. Discussion on <br />the building and site consideration were continued to the Board Meet~.ng <br />of Niay 6. <br />
