-Park Board Meeting <br />April 1, 1970 <br />Fage 2 <br />REVIEW OF BID AT,~TARDS ON 7TH STP,EET SITE DEVELOPMENT <br />1'he Board reviewed the bids of March 19, 1970 which were recommended <br />for consideration and were awarded by the Council at the Council <br />meeting of March 24. <br />JOINT MEETING MAY 7 <br />Mr's. Dahl outlined the Joint Citizen's Study Committee, Planning <br />Commission, Human Rights and Park Board Joint Meeting for May 7. <br />:7OLUNTEER rnTORK IN PARKS <br />'~:h.e Board briefly discussed the various considerations involved with <br />volunteer work within park sites.. <br />NAME THE. PARK CONTEST <br />The League of Women Voters, Jaycees, Business and Professional Women <br />have responded as being interested in a Name the Park contest. <br />Letters will now be sent to each group to inquire as to it ".plan for <br />naming the parks. Each plan is scheduled to be reviewed and by the. <br />June meeting it is hoped that a plan can be determined. <br />LETTER REGARDING PROPOSAL OF SKEET` AND TRAP RANGE <br />Motion by Weissman, seconded by Dahl to receive a letter from <br />Mr. Roger Paulson, 1038 Robin Lane, dated March 14, 1970 regarding the <br />discussion of a Trap and Skeet Range within one of the parks. <br />carried <br />MOUNDS VIErnT ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION <br />:~.r. Loren Belfany, 1740 Forest Dale Road, appeared to obtain information <br />on availability of ball fields. He was informed that no commitments ` <br />could be made at this time. Some fields have to be reseeded and others <br />sec-ded for the first time. Depending upon the success of the seeding <br />program, the diamonds will or iaill not be available for use this <br />summer.. <br />Motion by Weissman, seconded by Dahl to adjourn at 10°10 p.m. <br />carried. <br />
