March 25, 1969
-_ Mr. Robert Schaefer, Manager
803 Fifth Avenue Northwest
New Brighton, Minnesota 55112
RE; Resolving Park Board Inquiries
Mr. Schaefer:
The following items were brought up at the Park Board
meeting, at which time we were not aware of all the
circumstances behind them:
1. Questions were posed on the ruts in the skating
rink at Pike Lake Park. Further investigation
_: indicates that a mortor truck drove in the skating
area several times in positioning the truck to
back up to the shelter. Karl Krahl has hired to
remove the ruts as much as possible in the rapidly
-- freezing ground.
2. Several citizens complained about a possible flood-
___ ing danger to their homes located on the East side
~ of 14th Avenue from 3rd Street to approximately 400
W feet south, from the drainage swale on their rear
z property line, This is the problem that I requested
you to check if there is an existing drainage ease-
~ ment, and to contact the adjoining owners in order
w that we may proceed to upgrade the ditch. Work
furnished by the contractor will be by change order.
_ _.
~ 3. The progress report presented to the board had one
z item missing under the Proposal II contractors work
~; remaining on Pike Lake Park. The item complete reads -
~ furnish and place class #5 and dust coat in parking
Q lot, and furnish and install R.R. tie bumper stops.
If you have any questions on these items, contact me for
Q further information.
~ BRAUER & ASSOCIATES, INC.
W
Q ~ /
~ v
m Gerald Pi rkl ~d~j~~~
Field Supervisor "
css
