^ __ <br />Park Board Minutes 2 <br />Dec. 10, 1969 <br />would there be trouble with the Conservation Department--has this been <br />declared a breeding ground for fish? <br />The Board received plans for the N.E, parking lot concept. Consideration <br />was given to retaining a rink at the location; however, this will be <br />tabled for further action. <br />The Planner is requested for the next meeting, January 14, to have plans. <br />on the 7th Street site and the Rice Creek site. The status of seeding- <br />on the 7th Street site was discussed. The Board was informed that the <br />...contractor would refuse to reseed if the fall seed did not germinate. <br />He will work on this the first opportunity next spring. <br />Council Referral - Park Board Ordinance <br />The Board discussed the proposed membership increase. General consensus <br />indicated that (1) the character change of the community since the <br />original plan was developed and an increased program load should be <br />accompanied by a wider scope of expression {2) the emergence of <br />increased work loads and the probability of creation of subcommittees <br />within the Board structure warrant consideration for increased member- <br />ship (3) the Board has experienced some difficulty in securing a quorum, <br />additional membership should ease. this concern (4} Board should have an <br />..expanded range of viewpoints expressed. <br />Mr. Morris pointed out that since the change of chairmanship, <br />attendance has not been a problem <br />Motion by Hagemeyer, seconded by Dahl that the Board has reviewed the <br />proposed section 235 as referred and agrees with its contents and <br />recommends to the Council a second reading, adoption and publication. <br />Carried <br />Letter New Brighton Bulletin - Ree 5th Street N.W. <br />The Board .considered a proposed letter to the New Brighton Bulletin <br />regarding the extension of 5th Street N.in7. Board requested that the <br />letter be made part of the minutes and forwarded to the New Brighton <br />Bulletin> <br />Minnesota Railway Transfer Property Long Lake Park Site ,~ <br />The Board questioned what was involved in the request of the transfer <br />that the. Village had acquired to the original plan. Mr. Hansen <br />explained what the proposal was and the. reason for it. <br />Snowmobiles in Parks <br />Mr. Hansen discussed the problem of snowmobiles in various park sites. <br />Motion by Weissman, seconded by Hagemeyer to adjourn at 11210 p.m. <br />Carried <br />
