Carried
REALIGNMENT OF PARK ROAD 7TH STREET PARK SITE
Owing to the inability to stabilize the road through the park when it
abuts County Ditch #2, it has become necessary to consider realigning
the road. The planners presented a revised plan, which basically calls
for moving the soft ball field in the area to the west end bringing
the road which presently is on the west side of the ball field to the
east side of the field. The sketch plan of the proposed realignment
was presented. The residents affected by this proposed change stated
a preference for reversing the parking lot and the road. As the plan
was submitted, the parking lot was located west of the road, the road
being adjacent to the private property in the area. The residents
stated a preference for having the parking lot nearest their homes
rather than the road.
Motion by Hagemeyer, seconded by Hanson to recommend approval of the
revised plans providing for the exchange of the parking lot and road
location to insure that the parking lot be nearer the private property,
and that the design follow a concept of keeping all of these facilities
as far as possible from the adjacent homes in line with good design.
Carried
The .planners were reminded of the Park Board commitment to the New
Brighton Garden Club for space.
