<br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OI' MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRTGHTON <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SALE OF CITY-OWNED LAND DESIGNATED AS LONG <br />LAKE PARK TO RADSSEY COUNTY FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEVELOPING THOSE <br />LANDS AS A REGIONAL PARK <br />WHEREAS the City has purchased lands adjacent to Long Lake <br />for purposes of developing a multi-use park,-and <br />WHEREAS Ramsey County has purchased adjoining lands for the <br />I>urpose of park development, and <br />WHEREAS the City and County have jointly requested designa- <br />tion by the Metropolitan Council of thse lands as a regional park, <br />and <br />WHEREAS the Metropolitan Council has designated funds to <br />develop the park, and <br />WHEREAS the park will provide services and facilities to the <br />citizens of the City which are equivalent or superior to those <br />which could be provided by the City and at lesser cost to City <br />residents, and <br />WHEREAS the City, therefore, does not ,have a need to maintain <br />ownership of the park land adjacent to Long Lake, and <br />WHEREAS the City desires to facilitate the timely develop- <br />ment of this park, and <br />WHEREAS the County has received funds from the Metropolitan <br />Council to reimburse the City for original acquisition costs <br />incurred for the park lands, and <br />WHEREAS the City has requested that it also be reimbursed <br />for interest costs incurred, and <br />[VHEREAS the Metropolitan Council has determined that reim- <br />bursement of interest costs is not in accord with its policies, <br />and <br />WHEREAS the City will continue to seek reimbursement by the <br />Petropolitan Council of additional interest, stewardship, and <br />related legal costs; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the New Brighton City Counc1 <br />hereby authorizes the transfer of title of these lands commonly <br />known as Long Lake Park to Ramsey County, for use as a regional <br />park, for the consideration_of $698,101.00. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Manager are <br />authorized and directed to .execute all deeds and other documents <br />necessary to accomplish said sale. <br />Adopted this day of 1982. <br />ATTEST: <br />Gregory B.
