Chapter 19 of the New Brighton City Code is hereby ame~~~ed by adding thereto Article III, Long Lake Surface Use which sha:~ :~ read as follows : .. Se<:~. 19-30. Definitions. For the purposes of this Chapter, the following words and ph _r<$ses shall have the meaning respectively ascribed to them: Slow - No Wake: Means. operation of a watercraft at the slowest possible speed necessary to maintain steerage and in no case greater than 5 MPH. Seca. 19-31. Slow - No Wake Zones. It shall be unlawful to operate a watercraft while exceeding a ~~l:~w - no wake speed: a. Within l00 feet of shore except as modified by authorized buoys unless launching or landing a skier by the most direct route to open water. b. When the lake elevation exceeds 866.22 feet abo~?e Mean Sea Level Datum_as measured at the Long Lake Road bridge. c. .From sunset Friday to sunrise on Monday, except during the hours of 12 noon through 6:00 P.M. on each Saturday _and Sunday. d. On all legal holidays from sunset on the evening pre- ceding.the observed holiday and terminating at sunrise on the day following the observed holiday except during the hours of 12 noon through 6:00 P.M. Sec, 19-32. Boat Launching. No person shall launch or beach a watercraft other than at dew~:gnated.areas or on private property with the owner's permission. Sec,, 19-33. Direction of Travel Watercraft producing a wake shall be operated in a counter- cl~~kwise direction. Section 19-34. Motorized Vehicles on Lake Surface Ice. a. Speed limit. No person shall operate a motorized vehicle in excess of 25 miles per hour. b. Distance. No person shall operate a motorized vehicle in excess of eight miles per hour within one hundred fifty feet of any fisherman, fish house, pedestrian, skier, skater, skating rink, where such operation would endanger other persons or property. c. No person shall operate a motorized vehicle at any time unless headlights and taillights are illuminated.
