Another concern he had, Carlson said, was about liquor. The
county•s ordinance allows a certain quantity per group. But
then 20 people sit here, 20 there, and you can have four
groups, so they can have eight cases of beer instead of two.
He said he would like this problem down on paper so that the
City Council and County Board knows it is a concern.
Commers asked what she could report to the Long Lake Improve-
ment Association. Could she quote from the Master Plan?
Dahl said it would be all right to quote, in context, but it
should be remembered that it was far from complete. Commers
said that maybe she should wait for the next draft.
Borgstrom said that he wanted it to get into the members
hands so that they could comment on it for the City Council.
Anderson asked Simons when it would likely be finished..
Simons said that it could take a while. Borgstrom asked
whether the lake people could get the information at the same
time as the Park Board.
Anderson said that the next step would be the March 3 joint
meeting between the City Council and Park Board. After the
plan has been explained, then they will take testimony from
anyone who wants to talk. That will be the major opportunity
for .testimony on the Master Plan.
Bo rgstrom asked whether Anderson wanted input to come then
for .the first time or ahead of time. Dahl said that the Park
Board wants it on the 3rd. Th'r'.~~ meeting will not be a
decision-making night. The Park Board will meet later to
make their recommendation to the council. Then the council
will have to have a hearing.
Borgstrom said that his concern is that because Cook, Commers
and he are on the committee it would be thought that this was
the feeling of the residents and he did not want the Park
Board to be disappointed. Carlson said that they need all the
comments, then the Park Board will make a recommendation.
Simons said that the Master Plan is the staffs position.
Then they want the Park Board to prepare a list of questions
on paper .and they will review that and make modifications,
where acceptable, or respond in writing about those they can
not accept, and then they will send the Master Plan to the
City Council. They will then react and state their concerns
and the staff will Piave to respond to them. Some items will be
negotiable, some will not.
Simons said that the term "daycamp" was being taken off the
plan because the large group picnic area will hold it. What
was the daycamp area can be enlarged into a medium-size
group picnic area. There will be no lodge. They have to show
_g_
