ORDINANCE NU. <br />AN ORDINANCE GOVERNING SURFACE <br />USE OF LONG LAKE <br />The Council of the City of New Brighton does hereby ordain <br />as follows: <br />Section 1. Chapter. 19 of the New Brighton City Code is <br />hereby amended by adding thereto: Article III, Long Lake Surface <br />Use which shall read as follows: <br />Sec. 19-30. Definitions. <br />For the purposes of this Chapter, the following words and <br />phrases shall have the meaning respectively ascribed to them: <br />Wake: Is any disturbance of the water caused by a motor- <br />powered watercraft operating in excess of closed throttle <br />and in excess of 5 MPH. <br />Slow - No Wake; means operation of a watercraft at the <br />slowest possible speed necessary to maintain steerage and <br />in no case greater than 5 M~"'};i. <br />Sec. 19-31. No Wake Zones. <br />a. A no wake zone is hereby established on the surface of <br />Long Lake to cover all waters within 100 feet of the <br />shoreline except as modified by authorized bouys. <br />b. A no wake zone is established over the entire lake when <br />the water elevation of the lake is 866 feet or more above <br />mean sea level. <br />c. A no wake zone is established over the entire lake from <br />sunset on Friday of each weekend to sunrise on Monday; <br />except during the hours of 1:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. <br />on each Saturday and 1:00 p.m. through 7.:00 p.m. on each <br />Sunday. <br />d. A no wake zone is estab?iJhed over the entire lake on <br />all legal holidays commencing at sunset on the evening <br />preceding the observed holiday and termination at sunrise <br />on the day following the observed holiday; except that <br />period of time between 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on the <br />observed holiday. <br />Sec. 19-32. Prohibited Wake. <br />No person shall operate a <br />wake zone in such a manner as <br />Sec. 19-33.
