Anderg~~'l, ir~ctor Parks and Recreation
Re: Long Lake Surface Use Ordinance
The Department of Natural Resources has review authority
over city ordinances governing lake surface use. They
have indicated approval of our ordinance with the ex-
ception of Section 19-37 which they felt could be abused
under certain conditions.
This section has been revised:
The Director of Parks and Recreation or the
City Manager, upon determining that there is probable
. danger to persons or property, may close the lake sur-
face to all recreational use by posting notice of such
order.
Recommended:
The Director of Parks and Recreation or the City
Manager, may close the lake surface to all recreational
use by posting notice or the Order upon determining the
existance of conditions which constitute a danger to
persons or property.
PROVIDED that the lake cannot be closed for more
than one(1) week without the approval of the Council.
After the Park Board has formulated its recommendation, the
revised ordinance will be sent to the Department of Natural
Resources for its review and then to the New Brighton City
Council for approval.
•
