RESOLUTION NO. <br />07- <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />AND THE STATE OF MINNESOTA, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, DIVISION OF HOMELAND <br />SECURITY AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT <br />WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton values a sense of safety and security throughout our community; <br />WI'IEREAS, Citizen Corps was created to help coordinate volunteer activities that will make our <br />communities safer, stronger, and better prepared to respond to any emergency situation; <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Safety is an active sponsor of several Citizen Carps Programs, <br />including Neighborhood Watch, Volunteers in Public Safety (NIPS) and Community Emergency <br />Response Teams (CERT); <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Safety has been awarded a grant to enhance its Citizen Corps <br />activities; <br />WHERAS, a Resolution Authorizing Execution of this Agreement is required for participation and <br />• receipt of funds: <br />NOW THEREFORE BE I"I. RESQLVED, THE CITY MANAGER IS AUTHORIZED TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT <br />WITH T'HE STATE OF MINNESOTA, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, DIVISIUN OF HOMELAND SECURITY <br />AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON FUR THE PERIOD OF <br />JANUARY 1, 2007 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2007. <br />Adopted this 27`x' day of March, 2007 <br />AT"T"EST: <br />Daniel.
