NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />APRIL 7, 1982 <br />I. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairperson Gunderman. <br />II. Members present: Carlson, Grimshaw, Gunderman, Hogan, .Johnson, <br />Olson, Van Hatten. Dahl & Schmidt. arrived late <br />III. Minutes of March 3 and March 15, 1982 approved as submitted. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />None Given <br />V. New Business <br />A. LRHA Presentation - Harold Radke <br />Harold Radke of the Lake Region Hockey Association presented <br />the Park Board information on the association and discussed <br />the possibility of the association buying the Shoreview ice <br />arena or attempting to build a similar facility. He re- <br />quested that the Board provide, without cost to the associa- <br />tion, three to five acres of parkland on which to build an <br />arena if the plans to purchase the Shoreview arena fall <br />through. The Board indicated an interest in the proposal <br />but asked Mr. Radke to return with a formal request if they <br />were to become serious about a donation of land. <br />VI. Old Business <br />A. Comprehensive Park Plan - Regional Section <br />Anderson passed out an addition to the Comprehensive Park Plan; <br />a listing of County and Regional Parks. <br />Carlson asked where Island of Peace Park was. <br />Grimshaw responded in Fridley, <br />Anderson said the map will be improved. <br />Gunderman agreed it could be better. <br />Motion by Van Hatten, seconded by Carlson, to include the <br />County and Regional Park information in the Comprehensive <br />Park Plan. Motion passed. <br />Van Hatten said it is just a list of facilities. <br />Olson asked if addresses will be included? <br />Carlson felt it was necessary. <br />Grimshaw said at least state the city whe~.e it ~;iocated. <br />
