NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />JANUARY 6, 1982 <br />I. The meeting was called to order by Co-Chairperson Dahl at 7:35 p.m. <br />II. Members present: Carlson, Dahl, Grimshaw, Hogan, Johnson, Olson, <br />Solberg, Van Hatten, Council Rep. Schmidt <br />Gunderman arrived at 7:40. <br />The Park Board welcomed Greg Harcus as mayor. <br />III. Minutes of November 4, 1.981 Meeting were approved as submitted. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />Councilman Schmidt reported action.-taken at the past council <br />meeting. <br />B. Long Lake Park Study Committee Report <br />Dahl stated Park Board members should have received the meeting <br />minutes so they should be up to date. Have-received draft of <br />the master plan. Will .start discussion at the next meeting.. <br />Gunderman asked Borgstrom how the meetings were going. Borgstrom <br />stated he was pleased with how they were going, <br />Dahl said she feels good about how they went - they don't agree <br />on everything but meetings are going well. <br />V. New Business <br />A, Long Lake Clean-Up - Sue Louma <br />Girl Scout, Sue Louma, has chosen for her community project to <br />organize the clean up of Long Lake. She told the. Park Board she <br />has organized volunteer.groups to clean. up the lake. The :first <br />group has already started. <br />Anderson said he talked to Sue. She has a good handle on what <br />the Park Board wants. Anderson said .it's a good .idea and is <br />needed. <br />Jerry Bensing requested the $70 he requested for last year's clean <br />up be given to Sue to help with the clean. up, 'The money should be <br />used toward. the cleanup project. <br />Louma said she plans to distribute a flyer. to .the ice houses on the <br />lake asking them to help keep the lake surface clean. <br />Motion by Carlson, seconded by Dahl, that he supports Sue's project <br />and feels a record of participants involved in the clean up be kept <br />and the Park Board should send a letter of thank you to those people. <br />Motion passed. <br />
