YOUTH/ADULT PROGRAMS (CONTINUED)
Open Swims
PAGE 4
We've increased our offerings of open swims, plus had some
specially designated as lap swims which has helped increase
participation. In some pools open swims do not always for
for themselvers, however overall our's pay for themselves plus.
Tennis
Tennis lessons have stayed fairly consistent and. our .daytime/
women's social tennis has increased some over the past two years,
but our couples social tennis in the evening is on a decline,
which counter balances the increase in the other tennis programs.
X-Country Ski Lessons
With the strange weather conditions and the dropping of our
rental equipment for learners, our lessons have decreased.
Despite the decrease, the course is still justified and this
next winter we will have our class advertised in St. Anthony
and Mounds View which might help bring registration up.
Karate
Youth primarily take this class, but adults are welcome. Last
year was our first year and there was a tremendous response.
This year shows a decrease in interest,. but there is still
enough interest and it is not a problem to continue the class,
so unless minimums are not reached, the class will still be
offered. (It too will be jointly advertised with St. Anthony
Community Services.}
MISCELLANEOUS
Easter Breakfast
This is a special children's event which has run three consecutive
years; last year it was co-sponsored with Jaycee's Women. It was
decided that to keep a quality program the maximum number of partici-
pants should not exceed 60. The program usually is planned for
the Saturday before Easter.
Oasis
This program has now been taken over by the School District.
Open Gym
This provides a drop in use of the tym and even though numbers
are not high, it is a nice community service and we do at least
break even in costs vs. income.
