This book is intended <br />to encompass all city departments and areas of need within <br />the city. It is imperative that each of you solicit input <br />from your staff and/or commission if this book is to <br />accurately identify city needs.. <br />The book will attempt to solicit cash, materials or service <br />donations from individuals, service clubs and businesses <br />within the city. Be creative in listing your needs, giving <br />consideration to items that will save city funds and/or pro- <br />vide a greater service. Don't be frivolous, if you really <br />don't need it, don't ask for it! <br />The following is a partial list I have prepared for the Parks <br />Department. <br />Park & Rec. <br />Playground equipment $ 100 & up <br />Picnic tables 125 <br />Park benches 75 <br />Lawn Mowers (commerc~.'al grade). 250 & up <br />Picnic shelters 4,000 <br />Recreational sports equipment 10 & up <br />Sponsor for youth sports recognition 300 <br />picnic <br />Sponsor for Senior Citizens Christmas 500 <br />event <br />Van for. seniors transportation 9,000 <br />"Overload" typing assistance 10 hours per week <br />Park maintenance and construction 4 hours per day & up <br />assistance <br />continued... <br />
