Schools, police, streets <br />and public health were ranked ahead of <br />parks. (Highest of all, however, was the <br />response of "none.") <br />"People are in favor of parks in the Twin <br />Cities Area, and our regional and total <br />system of parks is better than most," <br />said Charles Smith, a Council parks <br />planner who designed the wrvey. <br />Of the 58 leiwre activities. listed in the <br />survey, 90 percent or more of the people <br />surveyed mentioned tt-ey're interested <br />in visiting and calking with friends; <br />going out (to eat, to movies,. etc.); <br />watching TV or listening to .the. radio <br />or stereo; and reading. <br />Only 11 percent said they're interested <br />in adventure sports such as skydiving, <br />rock climbing and gliding.
