NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD MINUTES JULY 6, 1983 I. Meeting was called to order at 7:30. pm by Vice-Chairperson Dahl. II. Members present: Dahl, Grimshaw, Gunderman, Hogan, Johnson, Olson, Solberg, Council Rep. Blomquist. Also present Michele Haggard Absent: Carlson, Van Hatten III. Minutes of June 1, 1983 meeting were approved as submitted. IV. Correspondence A. Council Report. Council Rep. Blomquist stated the second reading of the ordinance re: Long Lake Park land had been approved. It was as the Park Board recommended in ordinance form. The city initiated a claim against the army regarding the waterrproblem. The city has hired a consultant to .hire a city manager. The city plans to take time in hiring but a city manager should be hired by this fall. B. Walburn/Miller Blomquist stated the task force is no longer meeting. V. New Business A. Parks Tour Gunderman suggested another tour. Inns e. Council and Planning Commission and whoever is interested. Would like to take the tour in July so th.e ball fields may be seen in use. The tour was set for 6;30 pm on Thursday, July 14th. Meeting place will be City Hallr B. Well #12 Les Proper, City Engineer, was present to Give presentation on the proposed well building at Creekview. The city received a grant for a third well which is well #12. The location is Rice Creek Road and Silver Lake Road. There is a cleared area. Spacing makes it an ideal site and it is low which is good. The building would be 22 ft, high, low maintenance, dimensions are 25' x 70'. Will be .set back about 50-60 feet. 7 foot vertical.. Johnson suggested the road come in-.from the east side, His personal view is that he would like to see as little of the building as possible. Dahl asked if there were any other sites that could be used. Proper said no, this is the best by a long shot. Grimshaw asked if the building could be an earth tone color. Proper said it is possible to color the concrete.
