NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />JULY 6, 1983 <br />I. Meeting was called to order at 7:30. pm by Vice-Chairperson Dahl. <br />II. Members present: Dahl, Grimshaw, Gunderman, Hogan, Johnson, Olson, <br />Solberg, Council Rep. Blomquist. Also present <br />Michele Haggard <br />Absent: Carlson, Van Hatten <br />III. Minutes of June 1, 1983 meeting were approved as submitted. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report. <br />Council Rep. Blomquist stated the second reading of the ordinance <br />re: Long Lake Park land had been approved. It was as the Park <br />Board recommended in ordinance form. The city initiated a claim <br />against the army regarding the waterrproblem. The city has hired <br />a consultant to .hire a city manager. The city plans to take time <br />in hiring but a city manager should be hired by this fall. <br />B. Walburn/Miller <br />Blomquist stated the task force is no longer meeting. <br />V. New Business <br />A. Parks Tour <br />Gunderman suggested another tour. Inns e. Council and Planning <br />Commission and whoever is interested. Would like to take the <br />tour in July so th.e ball fields may be seen in use. <br />The tour was set for 6;30 pm on Thursday, July 14th. Meeting <br />place will be City Hallr <br />B. Well #12 <br />Les Proper, City Engineer, was present to Give presentation on <br />the proposed well building at Creekview. The city received a <br />grant for a third well which is well #12. The location is Rice <br />Creek Road and Silver Lake Road. There is a cleared area. <br />Spacing makes it an ideal site and it is low which is good. <br />The building would be 22 ft, high, low maintenance, dimensions are <br />25' x 70'. Will be .set back about 50-60 feet. 7 foot vertical.. <br />Johnson suggested the road come in-.from the east side, His personal <br />view is that he would like to see as little of the building as <br />possible. <br />Dahl asked if there were any other sites that could be used. <br />Proper said no, this is the best by a long shot. <br />Grimshaw asked if the building could be an earth tone color. <br />Proper said it is possible to color the concrete. <br />
