Nienaber, Director of Administration, and Don Graven, Director <br />of Public Works and Recreation Department, sought a program to enhance and ex- <br />pand recreational and social activities for seniors in their tri-county area. <br />Both agreed°the Wells'Fargo Gamefield Walking Course and its complete Walking <br />Club programming materials would be just the program needed to motivate seniors. <br />RESULTS AND-BENEFITS: SOCIAL ACTIVITY FOR SENIORS <br />By late fall, it was clear that the tri--county area had a phenomenally success- <br />. ful program. Not only had seniors fully embraced the Walking Course, but <br />middle-aged"....people found- he mild-exercise- games a perfect route for re-entry° <br />into more strenuous physical activity.., The Parks Department, fully delighted <br />with the equipment's durabilityiand popularity, is now readying Pioneer Park for <br />northern Kentucky's upcoming Senior Olympics. <br />Don Graven explained, 'Our Gaaefield Will launch ouz Senior Olympics. <br />After all, this is the program that inspired a regular lalking'Clnb. <br />What an impact it's had!" <br />
