...MEMORANDUM--Les Proper
Page 2
February 2y, 1984
used for quality treatment. Water quality facilities will be incorporated
into the design of the outlets of open water basins or at the outlets of the
storm .sewer system.
The provision of storage within a park facility requires that each
park be analyzed on a site-by-site basis. The design concept which may be
appropriate for Freedom Park, for example, may or may not be appropriate for
Veteran's Park. Depending upon existing conditions, regrading of an existing
facility to provide the required storage may or may not be necessary. Our
analysis did not take an indepth look at a redesign of each .park area but
rather if the necessary storage could be provided within the facility without
detrimental (structural) impacts. Therefore as the stormwater management
plan is implemented, each park area should be analyzed (on a site by site
basis). with the concept of providing stormwater detention being incorporated
into the development of the park plan.
The attached sheet also indicates an approximate time that the park
facility will be inundated (storage being provided) for the critical 100-year
frequency storm. It can be seen that storage (inundation) within the majority
of the park areas will occur only for a period of 1 to 3 hours once every 100
years.
