<br />,, <br />l <br />peremUc~r 7, 198.3 lark Iit~aj--i ~1 i n--t ~•.s <br />}'age 3 <br />John Schultz, LLAC Chairman, expressed ooncein with tagging <br />snowmobilers but not cross country skiiers. <br />Carlson said the snowmobile patrol used to post "No Snowmobili:ng" <br />signs themselves but they didn't stay up long. <br />Carlson said there used to be an 8 foot long sign that was put <br />up on the. beach gate stating snowmobile regulations. The. <br />sign was very helpful. <br />Jim Skiba, Park Superintendent, stated the sign was outdated <br />and no longer accurate. <br />Grimshaw stated that he is a snowmobiler and across country <br />skiier. He is in favor of cross country skiing in the park and <br />allow snowmobiling on the lake surface but not in the park. <br />Olson had no conunent at this point. <br />MOTION Ii', ~'A~l IIAT'I'F:t`1, SI:CONnI'D I3Y DAHL FOE. He said <br />there is enough Iand there that the park. can still be used and <br />construction still take place. <br />Dahl said we have to be careful of what we allow in the park <br />while. construction is in progress. <br />John Schultz commented that if. the park is open a person is <br />considered an invitee. If }people are being invited, it should <br />be safe for them. What about rescue - an access is needed. to <br />get in. <br />Dahl asked how restrictive Ramsey County would have to be. <br />c.~.l./ <br />Ken Simons stated certain activities can be .designated as <br />being allowed. <br />Joann Knuth said .that no part of the park is not accessible; <br />it is very accessible. Doesn't feel access should be a big cancer <br />There are many State and National parks with more of an access <br />problem. Perhaps a sign should be posted stating caution sfiould' <br />be used, proceed at your own risk.
