Tots and Tykes
• In 1982 6 year olds were added to the program. The numbers of that
year has remained pretty consistent in the succeeding years. This
program -also has been popular because we've kept it affordable
and have had excellent staff,
North Star Day Camp
This new program really offers an alternative to everything. else we
offer. It is completely run by the North Star organization we contracted
with them to help serve resident with more choices.
Soccer
We had offered an instruction/competitive .program several years ago.
It had ..grown more competitive and really didn't fit in with what we
try to offer so a parent organization took over the program. In 1983
we received alot of requests for an instructional only program to comp--
liment the competitive leagues so this year we did offer an afternoon
instructional program. It was popular enough that it .'should be
continued.
YOUTH/ADULT PROGRAMS
Swimmin Lessons
Participation in swimming lessons stays pretty consistent over the years.
[~,1e had a slight decrease because on a district wide basis all lessons
~.-ent up in price. Sy fall, our numbers are-back up to what they were
last fall. also our reputation is very-good and we've had a stable
staff over the last several years so a lot of people keep coming back.
and tell others. Over the last couple of years the Community. ,Education
Education Dept. of #621 has also listed our pool schedule in most of
their brochures which helps others in the district be aware of our
swimming offerings.
Open Swims
Agaim on a district wide basis the three pools increased their fees.
from 50 cents to $1.00 for open and lap swims. A decrease was expected,.
but our revenue has increased so we. still do not lose any money.. Plus
we offer our family discount and participants can buy a season pass which
can in the long run save them money. So the decrease we saw in the
summer-has stopped and our numbers are back up to what they were last
fall.:
X-Country Ski Lessons
With the strange weather conditions and the .dropping of our rental
equipment for learners, our lessons have decreased. Despite the decrease,
the course is still justified. We did have our class advertised in
• St. Anthony and Mounds View which helped registration. Plus we offered
more options for people to participate..
