Karate Youth primarily take this class, but adults are welcome. In 1983 there was a decrease in interest, but in 1984 we combined with St.- Anthony Community Services and offered it at two different locations which brought in more New Brighton participants. Tennis Tennis lessons have stayed fairly consistent and our daytime/women's social tennis has increased some over the ,past two years, but our couples social tennis in the evening is on a decline, which counter b:alanees the increase in the other tennis programs. We also offered fall lessons because their was a request. Not sure if we will continue that next year. MISCELLANEOUS Easter Breakfast This is a special children's event which has run four consecutive years; for the last 3 years it has been co-sponsored with Jaycee's Women. It was decided that to keep a quality program the maximum number of participants should not be exceeded. We reached our maximum in 1984. The program usually is planned for the Saturday before. Easter. Oasis This program has now been taken over by the School District. Open Gym This provides a drop in use of the gym and even though numbers. have not been high, it is a nice community service and we do at least break even in costs vs. income. This spring it was also extended because of increased interest which has continued into .this fall. Golf For the second year we offered a youth only lesson package versus a combined youth and adult class. This was well received by the youth. Also there was an increased. interest for the advanced class that was not evident in past years, so more classes were offered. Skids/Ski • New this year we jointly offered ski trips with the City of Mounds: View during the Winter Break period in February. These were popular enough. that we have scheduled them again for the same time period in ]:985. i
