NEW BRIGHTON PARK .BOARD <br />MINUTES <br />APRIL 23, 1984 <br />I. The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by Chairperson Gunderman. <br />II. Members present: Carlson, Dahl, Gunderman, Hogan, Johnson, Olson, <br />Rose, Solberg., Van Hatten, Council Rep. Janecek <br />III. Minutes of April 4, 1984 meeting were approved. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />Janecek reported that the Council approved the proclamation <br />for Arbor week and day and the proclamation for wellness <br />week and. day. Construction of the Fire. Station has begun. <br />B. Long Lake Advisory Committee <br />Dahl reported that water safety and water use were discussed <br />by Jerry Bergeron. He was not concerned about the County's <br />ability to patrol the area. <br />V. New Business. <br />A. Appointment to Long Lake Advisory Board <br />Dahl suggested .Dave .Dave Hogan be appointed. Dahl and-Van Hatten <br />designated Gunderman to-talk to Carlson and Olson and make the <br />selection. Carlson accepted, Olson as alternate. <br />VI. Old Business <br />A. Centex Development <br />Anderson introduced Dick Putnam and Tom Boise stating: that <br />park dedication has been increased from what was previously <br />presented. D. Putnam discussed the park dedication including <br />two tennis courts, 30-40 car parking lot, .6 mile trail, picnic <br />area, 6.3 acres, l.7 acres are .pond. Private open space will total <br />9.5 acres, facilities may include pool., tot lot, and open space, <br />linked by trails. <br />Gunderman. asked if the park could handle increased use by new <br />residents. <br />Anderson replied. that with the proposed additional land., Driftwood <br />park would not be overused but that the system might be short <br />soccer and :baseball/softball facilities. <br />Van Hatten asked if the cul~de--sacs had been discussed with <br />the Fire and Police Departments. <br />Putnam said yes. <br />
