April 23, 1984 Park Board Mintues <br />Page 2 <br />Gunderman asked Brenda Kruger, City Planner what density was permitted <br />under zoning laws.. <br />Kruger answered that it depended on the type of zoning and the type of <br />development. <br />Dahl liked the park treatment, is concerned about density. <br />Solberg - likes the park facilities, has some concern about density <br />and traffic. <br />Hogan - likes this concept. better than previous plan.. <br />Van Hatten - will Centex develop trails, parking lot, tennis courts; <br />Putnam said yes that was their intention. <br />How will water from the developed area drain into the pond? <br />Putnam said. through the storm sewer system..- <br />Rose - How many. cars in parking area. <br />Putnam replied 30-40. <br />Olson - like-this plan - what is timeline for project development .and <br />how does that. affect park development. <br />Putnam said it could. be .under construction in July. Once the ..road is <br />in, park development would likely occur. in fall of '85. <br />Johnson - understands that this is expensive land and that Driftwood <br />is underused, doesn't like the density but doesn't believe that is <br />the Park Board's problem. <br />Tom Boise responded that this housing will not generate much additional <br />park use because many are empty nesters, singles, and childless couples. <br />Economics of single family homes are not there according to Dick Putnam. <br />Gunderman asked. what the projected per unit-price range is. <br />Putnam responded $70,000-$120,000.. <br />Carlson - this plan looks much better than the previous. <br />Motion by Van Hatten,'seconded by Olson, that the Park Board go on <br />record as-favoring the park and open space portion of the development <br />as presented April 23, 1.984. Motion carried. Gunderman opposed, <br />Johnson abstained. <br />VII. Announcements <br />A. April 30, 1984 Health Fair <br />Anderson discussed the upcoming Health Fair scheduled for April 30th., <br />VIII. Adjournment <br />The meeting adjourned at 9,30 ptm, <br />
