Just want to have $700-$800 to
study it and the School District will: match-that.
Solberg said she would be afraid of the School District taking
exclusive use but with the .Joint Powers Agreement it should be ok.
Olson said-she agrees to the feasibility study and then would
like an opportunity to look at it again.
Hogan said he would agree to the feasibility study if it would
produce a quality field and a-Joint Powers :Agreement-would be
written.
Rose said it sounds proper and asked if there would be alternative
sites.
Anderson said yes, only the Irondale site. needs to be professionally
studied, the other sites he can do.
Motion by Olson, seconded. by Solberg, to recommend. allocation of
$700-800 from the CIP Community Involvement fund, to be matched
by the School District, for a feasibility study for lighted ball
fields at .Irondale.
Motion carried. Gunderman opposed..
Janecek mentioned that .the Council did adopt the 5 year CIP as
it was presented.
C. St. John's Gift
Anderson said St. John's School presented a $250 gift tobe used
at Vets and to be matched by our community involvement fund,
-Would like to have some ideas from the Park Board. We do face
the problem of coming up with something that is portable because
of the. redevelopment of the park and downtown area.
Gunderman suggested giving it back to the students and ask them
for ideas and suggestions of what they want..
Anderson said some playground equipment could be installed in
such a way that it could be moved,.
Johnson asked if we might want to match the gift but use it at a
later .date.
Anderson said kids don't like to ldpk to the future, We don`t.
know how long it will be before something happens at Veterans.
It could be 4 or 5 years.
Olson felt a gift from kids should be dealt with soon.
Anderson agreed. Would like to have something in this summer.
