Freedom is a developed park and no grading for park purposes is foreseen. He recommeded this plan not .be approved until it can be shown what grading will have to be done.. Gunderman said the school playground at Pike Lake is wet. Anderson said Veterans Park will; be redone in the near future. No need for a study for stormwater at this park_but a-study is necessary for Freedom.. Kramer-said there has to be drainage at Vets according to the criteria. Anderson said water storage could be on private property in the Veteran Park area. Gunderman asked what is done in developed areas where there are no parks. Kramer said big, pipes are used but it is very expensive.- Gunderman asked the Park Board .for their comments. Carlson expressed concern about Freedom Park. It appears that half the park would be unusable. Anderson. said a specific plan will. have to be prepared to determine the impact on Freedom Park. Proper said that this is just a plan. .They want to do the best job in regard to flooding and water .quality, If it_would greatly affect the utility of the .park, another alternative of installing the larger storm sewers may be the only practical solution. Van Hatten said. he shares Carlson's concern .about Freedom and is also concerned with the possibility of 6 feet of water being ponded in Hidden Oaks Park. Hogan mentioned he was concerned about Freedom: Rose had no comment. Solberg also expressed concern with the 6 foot bounce at Hidden-Oaks. Gunderman is concerned-with the inbetween floods, 5 year, etc. Kramer said the objective of the plan is to maximize storage and... minimize cost. If no storage is provided, a large and expensive convenance system will be needed to guard against flooding, Dahl said it has all been said. Gunderman said most have not studied the plan, he suggests it is put on the agenda for next month.
