NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />JANUARX 4f 1984 <br />I. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Gunderman at 7:30 p.m. <br />Anderson said that .Ken Simons., Ramsey County, had suggested changes <br />for the December 7, 1983 Park Board minutes and had asked for the <br />minutes to be revised.-. <br />Johnson, van Hatten and Blomquest had also stated they were at the <br />meeting but were not shown as present in-the minutes. They asked <br />that also be corrected. <br />The changes to the December 7th minutes relating to Ken Simons were <br />read and discussed. The board agreed to all the changes and asked <br />that the minutes be retyped. <br />II. Members Present: Carlson, Dahl., Gunderman, Johnson, Olson, <br />Van Hatten, Council Rep. Blomquist,Kelly Schultz,Sr.Dir. <br />Members Absent: Hogan, Solberg.. <br />III. Minutes <br />A. Minutes of December 7, 1983 were revised but have not been <br />approved. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />Blomquist explained the reason for Hogan's absence which was <br />because of a bad fall on his driveway where he suffered a <br />head injury. He is recovering at home. <br />The City is participating in the Minnesota Star Cities <br />Program. <br />Long Lake Park Joint Powers Agreement was sent to the County. <br />Johnson asked if there was any discussion between the Council <br />members regarding the Joint Powers Agreement. <br />Blomquist said. the Mayor suggested some additions .but after <br />discussion, decided it would be better to leave it as it was. <br />There were two requests for .Industrial Revenue Bonds; Micom <br />and Winfield Phase II (Co. Rd. D & 35W). The Winfield project <br />is proceeding nicely. <br />The Citizens Study .Committee recommended remodeling. of City Hall, <br />A commercial and residential development is being discussed on <br />10th Street to the freeway and apartments and .south from 10th <br />St, to 8th. The. development will necessitate taking .out 11 homes; <br />5 or 6 of which are in need of repair. There will be a meeting <br />with ,the developer and also public meetings on the. subject,. <br />The City is working on staff team building .and goal setting and <br />planning on getting assistance from Hamline Lniversity. <br />
