Letter from ..City Attorney <br />Johnson said he didn't understand the letters.. <br />Dahl explained that the court date had been_set.but the Long <br />Lake Homeowners Association wanted to move the date up. <br />Anderson said the Long Lake Homeowners Association had filed <br />the law suit on whether the City could sell the-park land <br />because of the bond issue... The law suit was actually filed <br />one year ago. <br />Van Hatten asked if the City-would have any big expenditures <br />in .the law suit. <br />Anderson said hopefully not. The City will meet with Ramsey <br />County and Metro Council legal staff in advance of the trial <br />to determine who is responsible for legal costs. <br />V. New Business. <br />A. Election <br />Gunderman stated .the-Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Park Board <br />were up for reelection. <br />Motion by Dahl, seconded by.Olson,-to elect Gunderman as <br />Chairman. Motion carried. <br />Motion by Van Hatten, seconded by Olson,. to elect Dahl as <br />Vice Chairman. Motion carried. <br />B. Seniors <br />Anderson said $3,000 additional money has been added_to the <br />1984 Senior Program.. Kelly will no longer handle summer <br />playgrounds. A playground supervisor will be hired.; This <br />frees up Kelly's time to .work more with seniors. She will <br />share some ideas and would like your ideas. <br />Kelly asked the Board what they know about the seniors program. <br />Only a few responded they: knew something about the seniors program. <br />Kelly said one of the seniors had mentioned it may be nice to <br />invite the City Council to a senior function. <br />Blomquist thought that was a good idea. <br />Kelly stated the club is limited to 160. Generally will take <br />New Brighton residents over non-residents if there .is a waiting <br />list for the club. .Would like to start more activity groups. <br />There. are probably Seniors that would participate in some <br />kind of activity but not necessarily want to belong to the <br />club, this would get more seniors involved, <br />
