MOTION CARRIED. C. South Hansen Parking Lot Anderson feels that at the present time, with the. Long Lake Park large picnic area to be in soon, we have the capicity to handle New Brighton's picnic needs. If the picnic area is removed from Hansen, we will not need as large a parking lot. Anderson's recommendation is to removed the picnic shelter from the Comp. Plan and build a smaller parking lot. Gunderman asked if the parking lot could be enlarged at a later date if necessary. Anderson said yes. It could be installed in such a way that it could be expanded later. Benke asked if a pavilion could be put in like the one at the other end of the park. Anderson said yes but most of the pavilion use is tied to water, bathrooms and other equipment in the area. MOTION BY VAN HATTEN, SECONDED BY BLOMQUIST, TO ADOPT THE PROPOSAL TO REMOVE THE PICNIC AREA AND HAVE A SMALLER PARKING LOT AT THE SOUTH END OF HANSEN PARK. MOTION CARRIED. D. Joint Meeting Anderson said he would like to have a joint park board meeting sometime in February with Shoreview, Mounds View and Arden Hills. Would like to encourage use of Long Lake beach. it is a regional facility. Would like to bring the communities up to date. May have 4 agenda items. Give each community a chance to talk about their programs. Could do it annually. The meeting was set far Tuesday, February 11th at 7:30pm at the Brightwood Hi11s Community Room.
