The proposal to <br />expand Gity Hall and improve the park is consistent with the public <br />land use designation. Pages 114 thru 118 of the Comprehensive Plan <br />state the goals for public facilities. Specifically regarding City <br />Hall the plan states that the current size of City Hall would be <br />adequate, but crowded, for the next 3 to 5 years (this was written in <br />the late 197D's). It was the opinion of the Citizen's Study Committee <br />and the Housing and Redevelopment Authority at the time that for the <br />benefit of the "downtown" the expansion of public offices should take <br />place in or near its present location.
