Unstable soil and high ground water conditions were encountered <br />along a 300 foot section of the utility easement and probably <br />will require a redesign of this section of sanitary sewer main. <br />Staff from the Department. of Public Works currently are working <br />on alternative solutions to mitigate the problem. <br />Staff is currently revising the plans for the swimming beach <br />parking lot in accordance with the directive of the County Board. <br />E. Petroleum Products Repository <br />Bids were opened on March 13. Staff has reviewed the bids and <br />accompanying disposal plans and will recommend that the bid be <br />awarded to Environmental Services Group Inc. of Rock Island, <br />Illinois with the award being conditional upon receipt of: <br />a.) Minnesota Pollution Control A ency approval of Disposal <br />Plan Submitted by contractormaterial to be hauled by <br />trucks to site in Illinois), and <br />b.) copy of Disposal Permit issued by Illinois Environmental <br />Protection Agency. <br />~.~ Historical 5o_o_Line Depot (New Brighton Area Historical Society <br />Status Quo - refer to previous reports (Depot has been included <br />in staff proposed Master Plan amendments). <br />G. Re ional Park Master Plan Amendments <br />Staff has prepared and is proposing three development amendments <br />to the Master Plan. The amendments have been stimulated by annual <br />staff review and reevaluation of the general development concept <br />and specific action requests by the New Brighton Area Historical <br />Society and the Lang Lake Improvement Associatian. The amendments <br />address: 1) location of the boat launch facility, 2) designation <br />of a Historic Preservation Zone and 3) siting of a historic depot. <br />The proposed amendments have been submitted to the Long Lake <br />Regional Park Advisory Board which will review and take action <br />on the amendments at its April meeting.. The subject ,amendments <br />will be submitted for approval to the County Board and New <br />Brighton City Council during May. <br />II.
