Anderson said he has had good luck with crushed limestone. It is very hard. Olson asked if wheel chairs would be able to use it. Anderson thought they would. Olson said .older people find it hard to walk on loose rock. Johnson asked if Travilla residents would use the park. Anderson said yes, probably both nursing homes in the area. Anderson said this will be a difficult park to construct because of the bad soi1.~ May not even be able to add the fill. C. Pike Lake Trail Anderson said he is recommending that the trail be delayed for another year. In talking to the DOT, they won't have preliminary plans for another year. We don't know where the signals will be and if there will be any medians. We can't finish. the trail until we know that. We can put the trail in but it won't go anywhere. Also the Engineering Dept. has been very busy with the downtown development. Johnson asked if we should asterisk it'and move it to 1987. Anderson said that wouldn't be necessary. MOTION BY VAN HATTEN, SECONDED BY OLSON, TO DELAY THE PIKE LAKE TRAIL FOR ONE YEAR. MOTION CARRIED. Johnson felt the trail would clean up the area. Anderson said yet but it's close to homes so we may hear some complaints. Carlson said his concern was-that the money may not be there in 1987. Anderson said he didn't think that would be a problem. Van Hatten said he would like to acknowledge the letter of appreciation regarding Meadow Wood Park. Seward asked how the beach was doing. Anderson said the numbers have been between 300-500. Anderson said he hears alot of people talking about the beach. Next year there will be a nice entrance. sign.
