Park meeting minutes showed one <br />person saying one thing and someone else saying something <br />totally different. <br />Johnson said going .into the park plan he didn't think it would <br />be controversial. Felt they would be happy to have a park. <br />Anderson asked how the Park Board felt. <br />Seward said the Park Board is an active part in this. <br />Kalina asked what the Park Board's role is. <br />Anderson said we are an advisory board. <br />Blomquist said the Park Board needs a clarification from the <br />Council on what the Park Board is to do. <br />Johnson said we should ask the Council what their pleasure is. <br />Anderson said that has already been done. <br />MOTION BY VAN HATTEN, SECONDED BY CARLSON, TO ACCEPT RECEIPT <br />OF THE LETTER FROM TONY BONA. MOTION CARRIED. <br />Carlson asked if the Park Board should go ahead with what we <br />had originally recommended. <br />Anderson said the issue is development in 1986. If we go past <br />July lst, the park won't happen in 1986. <br />MOTION BY VAN HATTEN, SECONDED BY SEWARD, TO ASK THE COUNCIL <br />TO DIRECT PREPARATION OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR DEVELOP- <br />MENT OF VETERANS PARK, CONSISTENT WITH THE BOARD'S EARLIER <br />RECOMMENDATION. <br />Johnson said the motion was being presumptuous on the Park <br />Board's part. <br />Seward said something needs to be done. <br />Johnson said we could ask the Council if there is anything <br />else we could do for them. <br />Carlson said either way you are asking the same thing, it's <br />just how it's asked. <br />Johnson said he feels the motion is too forceful. <br />Carlson said we are acting on the letter received from Tony Bona. <br />MOTION CARRIED. JOHNSON OPPOSED BECAUSE OF THE WORDING OF THE <br />MOTION. <br />
