June 4, 1986 Park Board Minutes
Page 5
Anderson said there is decent access from Pike Lake but that
only goes to the old beach.
Blomquist asked if that will then become the area the kids
will use.
Based on previous. comments MOTION BY CARLSON, SECONDED BY
BLOMQUIST, TO REQUEST THAT THE MAIN TRAIL ENTRANCE TO THE
SOUTH BE HIGH PRIORITY.
Anderson said it would be nice to have the trails in by
June 1st next year.
Van Hatten asked what would prevent people from cutting through
Beisswerngers across private property.
Anderson said nothing until the fencing is up (around the whole
park) .
Carlson was under the impression it would have been done by now.
Anderson said the fencing for the whole park will probably not
be installed until 1988.
MOTION CARRIED.
Carlson said snow fence has been used in our own parks on
occasion for barriers, could that be done for a temporary
barrier at Long Lake.
Anderson said we could try it. The permanent fence will be
chain link, 6 foot along the railroad, the other .areas not
that restrictive.
Van Hatten suggested putting up "No Park Entry" signs.
Anderson said Bury has them up now.
Anderson said Bury's area is the most natural area. to enter so
it is the most problem.
Carlson said that's where the snow fence could go in.
Anderson said it would be worth looking at. Will talk to
Ken Simons and John Kelley.
Anderson said the park entrance is a County problem but the
policing is ours.
VI. Old Business
A. Jackets
The Park Board decided to purchase a jacket with New Brighton
Park Board printed on them. It should cost each member about
$25. David Eichers is taking care of it.
