June 4, 1986 Park Board Minutes <br />Page 5 <br />Anderson said there is decent access from Pike Lake but that <br />only goes to the old beach. <br />Blomquist asked if that will then become the area the kids <br />will use. <br />Based on previous. comments MOTION BY CARLSON, SECONDED BY <br />BLOMQUIST, TO REQUEST THAT THE MAIN TRAIL ENTRANCE TO THE <br />SOUTH BE HIGH PRIORITY. <br />Anderson said it would be nice to have the trails in by <br />June 1st next year. <br />Van Hatten asked what would prevent people from cutting through <br />Beisswerngers across private property. <br />Anderson said nothing until the fencing is up (around the whole <br />park) . <br />Carlson was under the impression it would have been done by now. <br />Anderson said the fencing for the whole park will probably not <br />be installed until 1988. <br />MOTION CARRIED. <br />Carlson said snow fence has been used in our own parks on <br />occasion for barriers, could that be done for a temporary <br />barrier at Long Lake. <br />Anderson said we could try it. The permanent fence will be <br />chain link, 6 foot along the railroad, the other .areas not <br />that restrictive. <br />Van Hatten suggested putting up "No Park Entry" signs. <br />Anderson said Bury has them up now. <br />Anderson said Bury's area is the most natural area. to enter so <br />it is the most problem. <br />Carlson said that's where the snow fence could go in. <br />Anderson said it would be worth looking at. Will talk to <br />Ken Simons and John Kelley. <br />Anderson said the park entrance is a County problem but the <br />policing is ours. <br />VI. Old Business <br />A. Jackets <br />The Park Board decided to purchase a jacket with New Brighton <br />Park Board printed on them. It should cost each member about <br />$25. David Eichers is taking care of it. <br />
