The plan is very much an
urban. design with a total of 102 feet of right-of-way; 6 foot median,
8 foot shoulders and a 10 foot bike/pedestrian path.
o Bridge & Roadway Width
Two lanes. in each direction with turning lanes at entrance ramps to
I-35W and Arden Hills frontage road. Lane widths are shown at 12
feet.
o Pedestrian/Bike Path
On the attached map, the pedestrian/bike path is shown along the
southside of Highway 96 which is consistent with the plans of Arden
Hills and Shoreview to provide the same on the south side of Trunk
Highway 96. Over the bridge, the pedestrian and bikeway path would be
combined. Along the roadway, the bike/pedestrian path should be
separated from the roadway.- At each intersection on the .bridge the
path should be ramped for easy bike riding and. the pedestrian/bike
crossings clearly marked on the pavement.
