1 `~'~ <br />~1 `~ <br />NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD <br />MINUTES <br />OCTOBER 7, 1987 <br />I. The meeting was called to order at 7;30pm by chairman Johnson. <br />II. Members present:. Blomquist, Carlson, Eichers, Johnson, Olson, <br />Rose, Seward, Council Rep. Williams, Guests: Kevin Locke <br />(Community Development Director) and Gene Rezac (Burns and <br />Rezac Inc.) <br />Members absent: Kalina, Van Hatten <br />III. Minutes of September 2, 1987 <br />MOTION BY BLOMQUIST, SECONDED BY CARLSON, TO APPROVE THE <br />SEPTEMBER 2, 1987 MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED. <br />IV. .Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />The 1988 budget was put to bed. $150,000 was put in far <br />freedom next year. <br />Anderson said Vets was coming along nicely. <br />Johnson said he noticed change in the shape of the pond. <br />Anderson said that part of the pond had to be cut off <br />because of the bad soil. <br />Williams said the entrance signs were approved. Had a good <br />turn out for the squash show. It was the final event of the <br />Centennial activities. <br />The City has had a couple tours to show the developers New <br />Brighton's raw land. Concentration was on the Old 8 <br />corridor. Hope that the tours will pay off. <br />Kevin Locke, Community Development Director, commented that <br />it was good to get all the boards and commissions together <br />and keep them informed.. <br />Williams said the- City is still negotiating with the army. <br />Feel progress is being made. There have been proposals and <br />counter proposals. <br />B. Long Lake Advisory Committee <br />Johnson said they discussed the crossing on the northern <br />access to the park. There is an alternate to the <br />Mississippi street crossing. <br />
