June 3, 1987 Park Board Minutes
Page 6
Anderson said maybe two could be done in one night. It could
be done on a regular meeting night.
July 1st is the next scheduled meeting.
Anderson said he will schedule the facilities.
Van Hatten said he would volunteer his van.
The Park Board agreed to meet at the Brandywine, July 1st at
7:OOpm. Rose and Carlson will be absent.
VI. Old Business
A. Trail Access Update
Anderson said that Ramsey County does not plan to build linkage
trails this year. It's too late to do anything in 1987.
Anderson said it's very likely that the trails will go
in 1988. Anderson wants to write a letter but be careful
of the wording because of previous tense relations. Ask
Ramsey County to expedite as soon as possible.
Williams said that was good; something mild yet express our
concern. He can see Ramsey County's point of view that it is
-more .important to get people to the park by car rather than
New Brighton residents by foot.
Anderson said that the problem is that the trails were
scheduled in 1987. Ramsey County Park and Recreation made the
decision without checking with anyone (Long Lake Advisory
Committee and Park Board).
Johnson said we have to keep going with the railroad so we are
not in the same position next year.
VII.
