<br />N'EW BRIGH'.CON PARR BOARD ,MINUTES <br />MAY 6, 1987 <br />I. The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by Chairman <br />Johnson. <br />II. Members present: Carlson, Eichers, Johnson, Kalina, <br />bison, Seward, Van Hatten, Council Rep.. Williams <br />Members absent:: Blomquist, Rose <br />ITI, MOTION BY VAN HATTEN, SECONDED BY ETCHERS TO APPROVE THE <br />MINUTES OF APRIL 1, 1987 AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />Williams notified the Park Board that Steve Schmidt has <br />resigned from the City Council. He took a job with the <br />law firm LeEevere, Lefler, Kennedy, Obrian and Draw <br />which is the firm. of the City's attorney. He resigned. <br />because he didn't want any-conflict of interest.. <br />His term was up in November. <br />Widening of Long Lake Road was discussed. at the last <br />meeting. No one is opposed, but there was discussion <br />about the width of road and sidewalks. <br />The Pike Lake Trail was discussed. The County Engineer <br />talked about a stop light on the north end of the bridge, <br />so it would be a good place for the trail. <br />Anderson said it wouldn't be good because the trail will.. <br />intersect at Long Lake Road and Pike Lake Circle. The <br />county trail intersects at the same place.. The <br />semaphore would be south of the trail. People on the <br />sidewalk or on a bike-will want to cross immediately <br />rather than go to he semaphore. <br />Williams said there was also talk of burying electrical <br />cables for aesthetic reasons but the residents are not <br />all in favor of it because of the cost. The thought is <br />to assess all the energy users in the city. <br />Anderson commented that the south end of Hansen is done. <br />Take a look at it if you're in the area. <br />
