September 7, 1994 New Brighton Park Board Minutes <br />Anderson said a lot of progress was made at this meeting. More than <br />he thought would be accomplished. This is really a good start. Would <br />like to get some things laid out for residents to look at. It is important <br />that we develop a comprehensive plan. We can't fund everything in <br />one yeaz. It may take about 3 yeazs. <br />Anderson suggested bringing a plan back to the residents at the <br />December or January Park Board meeting, the 1st Wednesday of the <br />month. <br />Olson thanked the residents on behalf of the Park Board. <br />MOTION BY CARLSON, SECONDED BY HEINRICH, TO <br />RECOMMEND MAURIE GO BACK TO CITY STAFF, <br />INCORPORATE RESIDENT'S COMMENTS AND COME BACK TO <br />THE PARK BOARD WITH A PLAN FOR SILVER OAKS PARK. <br />Knuth stressed the point that we look not only to our boundaries but <br />maybe expand. Maybe we could get off the bad slope. The law <br />regazding grant money may have to change; maybe another park could <br />use the tennis court. <br />Mike Walker, Park Maintenance Superintendent expressed maintenance <br />concerns regarding drainage. <br />Anderson said the playground equipment is the highest priority. <br />Engineering is very busy trying to get street projects done. It could be <br />January before they have time to look at this. <br />MOTION CARRIED. <br />Anderson said the $25,000 was put back in the 1995 budget and he <br />added another $10,000 for 1995. Right now there is $35,000. <br />Williams inquired if the $10,000 was new money. Anderson said it <br />had been designated for hockey rinks but that was not needed any <br />more. <br />MOTION BY CARLSON, SECONDED BY SYKES, TO SUPPORT <br />TAKING THE $10,000 DESIGNATE FOR HOCKEY AND ADD IT <br />TO SILVER OAKS FUND. MOTION CARRIED. <br />VI. Old Business <br />A. Family Service Center Policies & Procedures <br />The Park Board discussed separating the policies and procedures and do each <br />one separately. After that is complete they can be approved individually. <br />VII. Announcement <br />None <br />
