NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD MINUTES MARCH 2, 1994 I. Call to Order The meeting was started by Chair Olson at 7:30pm. All items on the agenda were discussed although there wasn't a quorum. II. Members Present: Carlson, Kinzie, Olson, Orel, Council Rep. Williams, City Manager Matt Fulton, Assistant City Manager Barb Jeanetta. Members Absent: Eichers, Helgeson, Knuth, Trevorrow III. Minutes of February 2, 1994 Minutes were not approved due to lack of a quorum. IV. Correspondence A. Council Report Council Rep Williams stated Innsbruck Park was on the Council agenda January 25th. New office buildings were going up south corner of Old Hwy 8 and Hwy 96. Medical Devices, Inc. aze building in New Brighton. Matt Fulton stated he had a meeting with Mike Gould regazding the senior center. B. Multi City Senior Center Fulton stated he met with Mike Gould. Gould has found a site in Blaine for Church Upon the Rock. The Senior Center is contingent on meeting Gould's objective. 1'he numbers look close. Need to talk to the committees. A grant of $75,000 has been obtained and is intended to buy land for the Senior Center. Ocel asked if this is a certainty. Fulton responded that nothing is for sure yet. Gould wants the Senior Center there. V. New Business A. Board and Commission Reorganization Fulton and 7eanetta explained that the Council and Department Heads had a retreat. Want to make sure the boards and commissions aze being used as effectively as possible. Some things that came up were how might we improve the commission structure and look to see if there aze overlaps. The mission is to meet with every board and commission and have discussion of how we can improve. Would like to have the new plan in place for 1995 appointments. Some of the comments from the Park Board were that they were not sure thoughts of combining the Human Service and Park Board made sense because decisions would take twice as long. Didn't feel this would be streamlining anything.-
