Our initial <br />proposal was for the development of Hanson Park #3. However, based upon the conversations at that meeting it <br />became clear that the i?arlcs and Recreation department did not feel that blaneon Park- #3 was developable to a level <br />suitable for Little League play. Several altertzatie sites were discussed and suggested as possible replacements for <br />development at Reason Park #3. These alternate sites were ligbview, Totem Pole Park and Vermont field. <br />Additionally, a muhi-y°.,ar plan for,iieids partnership was discussed as a positive ste~.towaxds fields in tie City. <br />As a consequence of those discussions, the k~i lds and Scheduling coinmtttee has reviewed each of those tiel , <br />some for the fast time, others for the 4~ or 5~ time. We wotld like to present the following proposal. <br />Year #1. Little Lakes Little League would like to develop Totem Pole Park for little league play. Totem <br />Pole was selected because of several fPaders, Ampl° parking, Playground for small children, good drainage, are <br />but a few of the tositive aspects of the field. The other two sites, Highview and Vermont wexe rejected for a <br />variety of reasons, Par>dng, proadmity to streets, field tondidon, etc. LLLL would like to provide funding for <br />dugout fencing, approximate cost, $1640.00. The League would ask the City to provide benches on both the fast <br />and third base line and a hood for the backstop. approximate oust, $1500.04. Totem Pole Held would be <br />designated for American League.11-12 year okl, play. <br />Year #2. Little Lakes Little League would like to provide funding for protective bench fencing at both <br />Sunnycide and Pike Lake fields. Sunnystde would continue to be a Jr, Minor field (4-14 year olds) while Pike <br />lake waiild be d~ssgr-aspd an instructional league field ('1-X year aids).
