September 1, 1993 Park Board Minutes <br /> <br />The indoor playground is 5,000 square feet about 32 feet high and <br />almost circular. In the center there wi11 be low climbing things and <br />continue to go up to a pyramid with a series of platforms. At the top <br />platform there will be a suspension bridge to the other platform which <br />has a slide. The slide goes around and will be made of clear plastic. <br />There may be a time in the evening we make it available only to the <br />teens. <br />Olson asked if meeting the American Disabilities Act will be a problem. <br />Anderson said he didn't think so because everything does not have to <br />be handicap accessible. <br />Olson asked what the School Board has said about the family center. <br />Anderson said the Chamber is in favor of it. The School Board will <br />consider the proposed on September 14th. A committee was <br />organized to write letters to the School Board. The letters made a lot <br />of difference. <br />Anderson said the Planning Commission is in favor of the Family <br />Center. Their only concern is not to build it too small. No negative <br />comments to date on the proposed Family Center. <br />Downtown development is sti{I moving ahead. <br />D. Adopt a Park <br />Was deferred to the October meeting. <br />VI.
