September 1, 1993 Park Board Minutes
Anderson said yes, it's mountable curbing (sloped).
Ocel asked how we got that little piece of property..
Anderson said that the developer does his layout to get the maximum
number of lots in. We end up with the too wet, too high, strange
configuration pieces of property.
A resident asked what the next step is.

Anderson said the Engineering Department will develop a grading plan
and it will come to the Park Board in October or November. Residents
in the area will be notified when the Park Board will meet to make their
decision. You can come up to the Park and Rec. office to look at the
plan or attend the Park Board meeting.
A resident asked if we were trying to put too much equipment and
activities in the park.
Anderson said he doesn't think so. Play equipment and gazebo may
stand out but with trees and shrubs in it will be nice.
A resident asked when the new drawing would be done; hoping it may
be ready for their September 18 block party.
Anderson said he doubted it would be ready but he may be able to put
the facilities on the plan.
B. Rice Creek Center/Meadow Wood Park
See "B. Multi City Senior Center" under Correspondence.
C. Update on Potential Family Center
Anderson said a lot has happened. Northwest Youth and Family
Services pulled way back to 1,000 square feet. Their board decided
that a lot of their clients were not New Brighton residents and they did
not want to draw them to this site permanently. They will use their
people to supervise the Teen Center by employing them at the
concession stand, so the teenagers don't know they are being
supervised.
Two therapists are interested in housing their practice there. One is
Med Centers, the other is Copeland who is in private practice.
Ramsey County Public Health Nursing is looking at one or two offices.
Community Education is in, there will be an indoor playground, full
kitchen, dance area, collegiate size gym, stage on one end of the gym.
